NATEF
evaluates technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry and recommends programs that qualify for certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. (ASE)

strives to improve the quality of automotive service and repair through voluntary testing and certification of service technicians. (Brookdale strongly encourages all students to take their ASE exams as they progress through our Automotive Technology program.)

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, auto service technicians and mechanics are the highest rated, with an average annual salary of $ 41,400 rising to $ 64,070 for specialty certifications and technicians. New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York State are among the top states for employment in this field, with New Jersey ranking in the top five for annual earnings and about 18,000 jobs available in the New York area.
