Krishna is a partner of the Indirect Taxation practice, with a particular focus on customs and international trade. He has over 27 years of experience in areas related to customs, foreign trade policy, international trade, maritime transport and logistics.
Prior to joining BDO in India, he was associated for two years with a larger accounting firm and also worked with large Indian and multinational companies.
He has undertaken customs, foreign trade policy and international trade, indirect tax advice and compliance services in various verticals including aviation, wind, oil and gas, automotive, l engineering, locomotives, healthcare, steel, chemicals, infrastructure, IT / ITeS, pharmaceuticals and the automotive auxiliary sector.
Krishna has advised and assisted clients in setting up operations in India. He has also dealt with SEZ and EOU / STPI advisory, compliance and enforcement issues for various clients.
He largely managed the implementation of the EO-Soft IT tool for EOU compliance, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Global Trade Management Tool – Amber Road, HS Classification Automation , post-entry audit, etc. He has also been actively involved in advising clients on litigation and representations before the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and other appellate jurisdiction authorities. .
He has contributed significantly to Indian business and professional magazines and has been a speaker on customs and international trade related topics in several local, national and international forums.
