Pakistan Auto Show Hosts 2040 Pakistan Automobile Industry Symposium “A Paradigm Shift”

Day 2 of Pakistan Auto Show hosted a symposium on “PAKISTAN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY 2040 ‘A PARADIGM SHIFT'”. The objective of the 2nd edition of PAAPAM Symposium 2022 was to provide a platform for key industry stakeholders and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), to come together and share ideas for sustainable growth. and suggestions for policy realignment. Experts will also create solutions for current challenges and opportunities in the automotive engineering industry.

The Chief Organizer of this symposium – Iftikhar Ahmed said that: The event will focus on the industry-government-academia nexus, to involve stakeholders, engineers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), automotive parts manufacturers (APM) and end-users, to understand the changing needs of this industry and design more appropriate policies for the sustainable development of our sector and improve its contributions to the national economy.

Chief Guest Secretary Industries, Ahmed Javed Qazi, Guest of Honor President PEC, Najib ullah Haroon, Chairman and CEO of Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited –TAKAFUMI KOIKE, Chairman of Millat Tractors Limited – Sikandar Mustafa Khan, Mr. Haroon Sharif Institutional Economist & Former Minister of State, Chairman of Engineering Development Council – Almas Hyder and Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Chairman of Punjab Higher Education Commission, were among the most prominent speakers at the PAAPAM Symposium 2022.

The Pakistan Auto Show 2022 will attract over 100,000 visitors from July 29-31. This is the largest automobile exhibition in the country, which is held at the Lahore Exhibition Centre. This valuable initiative of Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) represents over 3000 large, medium and small industries from across Pakistan. The theme for this year’s event is; “MADE IN PAKISTAN”.

The various categories of exhibitors will include; Passenger cars, trucks, buses, tractors, rickshaws, motorcycles, auto parts manufacturers, service providers, machine manufacturers, tool manufacturers, vintage cars and heavy motorcycles as well as related service industries like accessories, tracking and insurance, etc. innovations and technologies, while emphasizing CSR, road safety and public awareness campaigns. The amount of local parts used for the assembly of national cars has increased significantly over the past 10 years, placing Pakistan among the top 40 auto manufacturing countries. It brings significant revenue to the public treasury, so the government must ensure an enabling environment to foster more investment and growth.
